This position manages and performs activities related to the ! identification, preservation, collection, processing and analysis of information related to legal and compliance matters for Ricoh and its subsidiaries.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Consults with attorneys to determine litigation support requirements and e-Discovery needs.

Independently manages eDiscovery projects, which may include data support, custom reporting and/or complex analysis.

Provides recommendations, plans, time-lines and estimates to the responsible in-house attorney for all e Discovery related matters.

Ensures eDiscovery cases are collected and processed on time

Ensures the chain of custody for evidence items is maintained for all requests.

Sends and tracks Legal Hold notifications, identifies and scopes custodians.

Plans, schedules and implements paper collections and electronic collections.

Tracks the export of electronically stored information to outside parties.

A! dvises business and IT professionals on e-discovery technology! and regulatory requirements in support of litigation and forensic projects.

Ensures compliance with regulations regarding ESI.

Gathers and oversees data collection efforts from various IT systems to support the litigation hold process.

Performs quality control on data collection results.

Coordinates external counsel, third party e- Discovery consultants and hosted review vendors.

Maintains accurate and current records of all aspects of projects relating to tracking, specifications, systems data maps and chain of custody related to litigation issues.

Advises team members on data collecting and processing options, including vendor selection for outsourced processing and hosting solutions.

Develops and maintains best practice e-discovery procedures and policies. Serves as the primary liaison and point of contact for e-discovery and litigation support issues.

Collaborates with the Legal team to help develo! p, manage and automate the technical components of trial preparation.

Deposes as an expert witness on data retention policies and procedures.

Provides direction and schedules for all work on projects required to meet requirements.

Anticipates and mitigates project risks.

Creates and maintains project documentation.

Analyzes policies and procedures to continuously improve program's efficiency and effectiveness.

Plans and leads project meetings.

Creates, imports and exports load files for document productions.

Performs quality control on incoming data from clients, vendors and other third-parties for use in litigation support applications.

Builds, configures and maintains litigation support databases utilizing various software platforms

Maintains intake and output tracking logs and inventories for all data and media.

Coordinates scanning, coding and OCR-ing of documents.
Identifies, harvests, preserves, processes, reviews, and produces ele! ctronically stored information (ESI) from work stations, network servers, archives, applications, and other knowledge/document management tools such as back-up tapes, collaborative tools and other storage media.

Documents project progress, and communicates internally and externally on an ad-hoc and scheduled basis as required.

Stays current on litigation support, tools and technologies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Requires Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

Requires a minimum of 5 years of Paralegal and/or litigation support work experience.

Requires a minimum of 5 years IT experience.

Proven, demonstrated experience with eDiscovery including knowledge of technology platforms (including Autonomy Enterprise Archive Solution, Symantec Ent! erprise Vault Discovery Accelerator, Concordance, Summation. Relativity etc.), and working with third party eDiscovery vendors.

Aptitude with litigation support applications such as Clearwell, Catalyst, IPRO, CaseMap, Microsoft Access, Sanction, Trial Director, Adobe Acrobat (or other similar viewer).

Must have experience and proficiency in developing SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.

Knowledge of Document Management Systems a plus.

Must be proficient with MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel.

Exposure or proficiency in web-based reporting delivery and other personal computer applications.

CEDS (Certified eDiscovery Specialist) designation a plus.

Knowledge of IT Compliance issues.

Knowledge of backup applications and backup/restore procedures a plus.

Knowledge of SOX requirements a plus.

Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
