HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGMENT MANAGER

Location: West Chester, Pennsylvania

Description: The Judge Group is in need of HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGMENT MANAGER right now, this position will be presented in Pennsylvania. Judge Medical has an excellent full-time, permanent opportunity for a Health Information Management (HIM) professional to managed the operations, activities, and employees in the HIM department. The Manager is responsible for the maintenance and care of all medical records and for review and analysis of all medical records to ensure internal consistency and completeness. The manager is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the H.I.M. Manager competency checklist.
• Codes diagnoses, procedures, and special treatments.
• Abstracts information from medical records for billing purposes.
• Compiles daily, monthly and yearly statistics.
• Reviews charts for completeness.
• Processes admissions and discharges.
• Performs quality management studies for Health Information Management Department and Medical Staff.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of experience in medical records required, five years desired - HOSPITAL Setting
• Knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, HIPAA and other regulatory agencies.

Education:

• Completed coursework in an approved educational program for a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.
• Degree in Health Information Management.

Licensure/Certification: Must be registered with the American Health Information Management Association.
