The Pittsburgh office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP has an immediate opening for a Litigation/Softwar! e Support Technician to provide litigation production and application support to attorneys and staff by utilizing current litigation software suites such as Case Logistix, LiveNote and Summation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as point person in resolving software/hardware issues relating to the supported litigation support tools. Consult and advise case teams on best practices for the preparation of documents and how to best use litigation support technologies to support projects. Coordinate the conversion, processing, loading and exporting of data and images to and from litigation systems. Conduct complex database searches, facilitating document review sessions with attorneys, and coordinating productions to external parties. Convert data from outside sources to in-house software. Prepare manuals and instruction materials for training personnel in litigation tools and processes and provides training when appropriate, especially with vendor provided! tools. Train staff in litigation support applications and pro! viding end user support to litigation support professionals. Diagnose and correct system and network problems related to litigation services tools and serve as a technical liaison to appropriate vendors. Write SOWs Research software applications for E-Discovery process improvement. Provide technical assistance on the Firm’s software applications, hardware, printers and remote technologies to end users on a regular basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Bachelor's Degree or combination of associate's degree and 2+ years of experience. 2+ years of experience in a legal or litigation support environment. Proficient in Windows OS (Server and workstation), document management, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, OCR tools, Citrix XenAPP, mobile devices (iPads, Blackberry, Android), remote support tools, ticketing system. Knowledge of E-Discovery process and an understanding of industry technology and terminology. Strong technical aptitude and understa! nding, including ability to quickly learn new applications. Multitask and operate well under time constraints and the pressure of litigation deadlines. Communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel in a clear manner. Ability to work directly with a variety of technical and non-technical end users. Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) in order to interact effectively with the firm attorneys and their clients.
