Summary:
This is a wonderful opportunity to use your experience in billing or collections and take it to Apria. You have the best of both worlds â€" the ability to work in a smaller environment but at the same time, be part of a National healthcare company. This position is located at our National Medicare Billing Center. The Billing team consists of about 143 associates.
You will get extensive training in Medicare billing, collections & customer service. We also have ongoing support such as twice weekly team huddles to ask questions and share best practic! es.
We have a great facility including a large cafete! ria with a large flat screen TV. We also have a fun group to work with. Each month there are team monthly events such as potlucks etc.

Responsibilities:
You will research any overdue account balance that is fully or partially unpaid and follow up by mail and/or phone to insurance carriers or customers on delinquent payments.
Review claims denied for payment and underpaid claims. Verify payment information adjustments to supervisor.
Coordinate collection activities for delinquent accounts by preparing information for external collection agencies or attorneys.
Comply with the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act (FDCPA).
Respond to customer inquiries regarding account status.
Research customer's accounts thoroughly and documents appropriately.
Resolve discrepancies and prepares adjustments and refunds as necessary.
Coordinate collection agency communication.
Ensure that all information regarding collection activity of account is entered accurately into the billing system.
Bring recurring issues to the attention of the department supervisor.
Initiate payments and resubmits bills as necessary.
Pursue patient for payment obligations when insurance defaults as permitted by law or contractual relationships.
Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor
