Detailed Description SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONThe Import/Export Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with all U.S. Customsand other government agency requirements and regulations relating to import and export.This person will be located at our York, PA distribution center and will be working to improve compliance and best business practices at this location. To be successful, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Lead and assist site with daily import/export processes Designate customs classifications of all products imported or exported into or out of York facilities. Ensure compliance with all US government agencies relating to import & export Lead and coordinate efforts with site operations, regulatory/QA, manufacturing and finance teams Ensure timely filing & customs clearance Lead and assist site with impact of trade agreements Identify and pursue opportunities for duty savings and profit improvement Develop and maintain an efficient import/export program including best practices. Serve as primary contact with government officials, customs brokers, attorneys, and trade associations on customs matters related to classification, valuation, compliance audits and trade legislation Monitor regulatory changes affecting import and export regulations, and adjust business procedures accordingly Performs other related duties as assigned The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position. Bachelors degree required. Experience may be substituted if appropriate. Customs brokers license preferred Three to five years of experience in customs compliance & onhand knowledge of international trade, customs, and export regulations. Ability to work well in team creative environment. Demonstrated ability to develop procedures, and processes, comply with policies, and work in Team enviroment. Personal computer proficiency Strong communication and leadership skill
