Summary: The General Clerk II will be assigned to specific Chief Counsel Offices, or sub / satellite locations within that ! Counselâs area of operation. Duties and responsibilities relate directly to the scanning of documents. Using document scanners, employees will also scan an assortment of case related documents in to the system. Data and documents to be scanned include, but are not limited to, decisions by Immigration Judges, master calendar entries, Board of Immigration Appeals briefs and decisions, alien appeals, attorney notes, Notices to Appear, administrative removals, relief applications, and motions to reopen. * Position Contingent Upon Award *
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
The General Clerk II follows clearly detailed procedures in performing repetitive tasks in the same sequence. Responsibilities may include filing pre-coded documents in a chronological file, or operating office equipment, (e.g., mimeograph, photocopy, addressograph or mailing machine).
This position requires familiarity with the office terminology. The G! eneral Clerk II selects appropriate methods from a wide variet! y of procedures or makes simple adaptations and interpretations of a limited number of substantive guides and manuals. The clerical steps often vary in type or sequence, depending on the task.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma and/or GED required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience scanning / storing documents required.
Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat (scanning / creating PDFs).
Must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills, experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
