We are currently searching for a SALES TAX ADMINISTRATOR to join Saint-Gobain North America in our corporate offices located in VALLEY FORGE, PA. The Sales Tax Administrator will serve as a team member assisting in transactional tax compliance and audit ! management for Saint-Gobain in North America as set forth in t! he Service Level Agreements with the Business Units. Support team with U.S. sales & use, Canadian VAT, provincial, excise, business licenses, and other various transactional tax filings for the North American operations as well as the following areas of responsibility:

1)Support Tax Audits. Support the timely and responsive audit defense of the Company and its affiliates including coordination with the Business Units and Government agencies as well as executing internal and external audit strategies.

2)Administration of Tax Exemption Certificate database. Work with Business Units to support 3rd party software and administration of exemption certificates.

3)Tax Compliance. Assist sales and use tax team to ensure compliance obligations are efficiently, timely and accurately satisfied while minimizing company’s transactional tax liabilities. Assist manager in completion and tracking of all requirements presented in the Service Level Agreement.

4)Tax Research. Review transactional tax developments to ensure tax compliance. Assist with implementing new or improved tax procedures as a result of audits or law changes.

Support Transactional Tax Audits and Internal Reverse Audits- Support all

transactional tax audits for North American operations by gathering invoice copies

from various ERP systems, reports or otherwise; review certificates for validity and

completeness; review schedules from auditors to obtain missing or incomplete

information; work with other departments, customers or vendors to obtain missing

documentation.

Tax Exemption Certificate Database Management- Based on sales tax research and

established business procedures, accept, reject and update customer exemption

certificates; deal directly with internal personnel in pursuit of tax exemption

c! ertificates required per audit and to establish procedures to maintain ! exemption

certificates in the electronic database.

Tax Compliance- Gather and prepare supporting documentation for Power of

Attorney updates with the jurisdictions, maintenance of registration information with

state and local taxing authorities, maintaining copies of permits or registrations.

Timely response to state correspondence, maintaining copies of correspondence sent

to third-party preparer, monitor and report on third-party response to notices. Assist

in the preparation of responses to external inquiries regarding transactional taxes from

government agencies, customers and vendors.

Special Projects- Manage the Sales & Use Tax web portal and monitor the Sales &

Use Tax general mailbox and other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements:

  • B.S. / B.A. in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Zero to three years experience in transac! tional tax compliance and audits or related work.
  • Experience with intermediate or advanced Excel functions (Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SAP, JDE and Vertex is a plus.
