The Senior Accountant position is accountable for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets , tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, accounting! for the disposition of fixed assets, coordinating leasing arrangements and the preparation of both internal and external reporting requirements. This position will also involve the preparation of month-end journal entries arising from fixed asset activities, the resolution of discrepancies between the fixed asset system and the ERP and assisting with other financial close-related tasks.

Principal Accountabilities:
Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets. Prepare, maintain, and understand balance sheet and income statement reconciliations pertaining to fixed asset activities. Complete fixed asset accounting and prepare related journal entries per agreed upon timelines Review and understand assigned accounts for accuracy and ensure that transactions are properly recorded. Prepare and assist with the annual planning process as well as periodic forecasting. Engage with the accounting team and other de! partments to ensure proper and efficient accounting methods as! well as understanding the business needs of the other departments as it pertains to fixed asset accounting transactions and reports. Identify areas of opportunity to increase automations and efficiencies within the current processes, and assist in or initiate process improvements to improve efficiency/productivity and strengthen controls to improve the fixed asset close cycle. Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets. Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system, as well as the fixed asset subsidiary ledger. Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed. Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger. Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets. Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets. Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangib! le assets. Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management. Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries. Assist with any audits by a various states that involve fixed assets. Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations Prepare reporting for all offices in their local currency and ensure all reports needed for local audits Responsible for maintaining accounting policies and internal controls, researching appropriate accounting treatment as specified in company guidelines and ensuring businesses follow correct capital versus expense project accounting Implement best practices for the leasing process Execute Fixed Asset activities effectively and without significant process breakdown
Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience with general ledger accounting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, ! Finance or Business.
  • Strong financial control, reporting and a! ccounting skills.
  • Good understanding of how Finance processes and systems operate.
  • Strong interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple/conflicting priorities.
  • FAS experience and advanced Microsoft skills (data manipulation, advanced formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, outlook, PowerPoint, word).
