This position will be responsible for covering the Southwest region of the US, b! ased in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office.

This individual will provide guidance on securing the collection process and will be recognized as the primary eDiscovery Consultant.

This individual MUST have a strong working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and feel confident giving advice, recommendations and offering alternatives to the Case Team Attorneys.

Duties include:
  • Coordinate “live data acquisitions” with forensic specialists.
  • Help coordinate the “ingestion” of data from client to the Firm's National Data Center.
  • Will work with key case team members on analysis
  • Will be 100% responsible for creating production “sets” and “pro-pounding” the production set to opposing counsel.
  • May assist in trial preparation and accompany the attorneys at trial
  • Provide client technical consulting
  • Support livenote/real-time technologies
  • Liaison on! projects involving outside vendors and experts
  • Liais! on between case teams and National Data Center
  • Help craft search parameters and queries via Relativity
This individual will be the "center of the hub" and will be the primary consultant on proper eDiscovery protocol, handling of ESI and must be the expert on the FRCP (Federal Rules of Civil Procedure).

This individual will liaison between 6 primary teams:
1. Firm internal eDiscovery Data Center

2. Firm internal IT department

3. Firm internal eDiscovery counsel

4. Firm Case Teams - including Case Managers, Attorneys and Paralegals

5. Outside vendors

6. Opposing Counsel Case Teams and Opposing Counsel Litigation Support Teams

This individual must be very well polished and must be able to confidently “talk the talk” with regard to the FRCP(Federal Rules of Civil Procedure), advise attorneys on the EDRM (Electronic Data Reference Model) and ESI (Electronically Stored Information) p! roper protocols and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
A four-year college degree in relevant field of study or system-related technical certification required.
Paralegal Certificate a plus.
Three to five years experience in a Litigation Support / technical support and/or technical-paralegal position. Experience with courtroom presentation tools required.
Experience in/ or familiarity with the litigation process.
Strong familiarity with Litigation Support Applications such as Relativity, TrialDirector, CaseMap and TimeMap, as well as with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, their design, importing/exporting data, providing technical support to end-users.
Must be able to operate personal desktop computers and laptops; printers, scanners, bar code readers, CD/DVD-RWs; eDiscovery processing tools; eDiscovery review tools and applications; eDiscovery project management and workflow technologies; trial presentation equ! ipment and software technologies.
Strong interpersonal communicatio! n skills.. Work effectively with others in high-pressure situations with compressed deadlines.
Exercise independent judgment within parameters determined by the attorneys managing their cases.
Coordinate resources to meet competing demands.
Act and work independently, handle interruptions, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Understand and follow specific and detailed instructions and protocols.
Display a professional manner with clients, attorneys, paralegals and other firm personnel.
Work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to deal with stress associated in a fast paced work environment, including the handling of multiple tasks on a daily basis.
Must use sound judgment to make independent decisions and handle daily, routine responsibilities.
Must be able to adapt to changing work situations, and grasp and apply new ideas.
Must be able to effectively communicate with various personalities at all levels of management and staff! .
