Our client has an immediate need for an accomplished Technical Sales Representative in our Colloidal Technolo! gies Group. Job Overview:
You will be primarily responsible for revenue and profit growth of company programs and services in targeted accounts within the catalyst and specialty abrasives markets. You will be required to take a consultative sales approach with a strong emphasis on converting strategic competitive accounts to company. In addition, you must build long-term relationships with an existing customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies. This position is focused on new business development. If applicable, relocation assistance would be provided for the right candidate.
Main Responsibilities:
- Gene! rate and execute sales plans and strategies to close major, co! mpetitively-held accounts. Target % sales time will be greater than 50%.
- Conduct cold calls within the Petrochemical and Environmental Catalyst market
- Manage efforts to enter new markets with the colloidal silica offerings
- Work closely with large, strategic current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and prospective customers, including R&D personnel, Business Management and plant or facility executives.
- Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required.
- Collaborate with R&D and Marketing teams in team selling environment.
- Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer oper! ations are performing at optimal levels.
- Actively sell and support innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships.
- Demonstrate strong team leadership by collaborating with other District Reps, championing corporate initiatives, and by planning and leading portions of District Meetings.
- Plan and execute successful customer and prospect Seminars, demonstrating market leadership within the local geography.
- Advise business unit leadership on products and strategies to expand market share.
- Demonstrate the ability to stabilize jeopardy business in large, strategic accounts.
- Travel within assigned sales territory 50%+.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field. Would really like candidates to have knowledge of petrochemical catalyst market, or at least the ca! talyst market. Candidates do not need to have sales experience, IF they! have the right personality & have competitive drive. A background working for companies in catalysts industry as marketers, product manufacturers, people selling into those industries, etc., would be fine. · 50%+ overnight travel required to support sales territory
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering (Chemical, Ceramic, Material Science) or other technical degree
- 5+ years of successful technical sales or outside sales experience with a proven sales track record
- Experience in semiconductor, specialty abrasives or catalyst markets.
- Experience in consumables / annuity type business.
- Working knowledge of Petrochemical & environmental catalyst production or specialty abrasives within the semi-conductor industry
- High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
- Past experience or desire to conduct âco! ldâ sales calls
- History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
- Prior experience that required excellent communication skills
