Functioning as a key member of Mylan’s Legal Leadership Team. Being responsible for the day-to-day coordination of legal work on M&A activities, business development, financing activities and related matters with other attorneys in the legal department! and other corporate departments such as corporate communicati! ons, investor relations, finance and accounting, human resources, risk management, tax and treasury.
Providing senior oversight to the Global Contracts operations function within the Legal Department
Assisting the General Counsel in setting policies and strategy for the Legal Department
Proactively monitoring pertinent legal and regulatory trends, especially focusing on the changing environment
Advising the General Counsel of all potential legal issues, topics and legislative initiatives regarding all areas as to which s/he is responsible or informed
Embodying the core values of the company and incorporating them, whenever relevant, into talent development initiatives to further the company’s strategy for growth
Working with the General Counsel and other senior colleagues in the Legal Department to establish processes, structure, methodologies and procedures in the Legal Department, as needed or required
Maint! aining clear and regular communications with the General Counsel and senior management, the Board of Directors, other relevant corporate stakeholders, and external constituencies, as appropriate

Here are the qualifications for this position:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
A Juris Doctorate degree and 12 years of legal experi! ence preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education w! ill be taken into consideration.
The successful candidate must be highly intelligent, possess excellent business/legal judgment, and add value as a respected strategic leader as well as a great legal technician at the company. S/He must be able to work comfortably in an intense, fast-paced environment, must be responsive to the needs of management, have a high energy level, be hands-on, and have the judgment/confidence to be able to make decisions under pressure in a timely way. This person must inspire confidence through the strength of his or her intellect, judgment, leadership style, and ability to manage interpersonal relationships at all levels. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 12 years of experience with the most recent being in a leadership role within a corporate or major law firm environment. A strong diverse corporate background is required, with direct experience in corporate, finance and other transactional (e.g., M&A) matters.
Gravitas and communication skills needed to engender the confidence of the members of Board of Directors
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with the highest level of Senior Management, and collaboratively with other corporate functions, including Finance, Compliance, Audit and Investor Relations
Requires strong leadership capabilities and solid business acumen in addition to technical excellence
Demonstrated ability to effectively build, lead and motivate a staff of experienced legal professionals
Strong interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills
Excellent organizational, written/verbal and analytical skills
Foster the culture of the Legal Department with a passion for and a commitment to the Company’s core values
Position functions with supervision. Position directly supervise! s employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ! the organization's policies and applicable laws.
