Project Portfolio Manager, Turnaround 2026



to our team located in Neste Engineering Center of excellence in Porvoo, Finland.


This is a career opportunity for you, who has already proven yourself in Project Management and now is looking to move forward. In this job, you will focus on Porvoo refinery turnaround 2026 (TA26). You will lead a Portfolio Management Team to deliver the investment projects in the TA26.

Your role in our team

You will lead a Portfolio Management Team of around 10 people in matrix to deliver the investment projects in the TA26. The actual delivery organisation is significantly larger. You will be responsible for project portfolio KPI analysis, improvement actions and reporting as well as coaching the TA26 Project Managers to achieve the project targets.



We work where we are most productive and therefore offer flexible opportunities for working. To promote cooperation and a sense of belonging we have agreed on face to face meetings with the team 1-3 times per week.

Keys to success in this role

Education and experience that we look for

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years industrial related project management experience in an international EPC/EPCM environment.
  • Project Management studies and certification such as PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) or International Project Management Association (IPMA) level "C" or "B".


The best combination of experiences, skills and background are

  • Refinery turnaround experience
  • Excellent leadership, management, engagement and communication skills
  • Team player; cooperation and excellent stakeholder management skills are a must
  • Genuine interest for staff and their wellbeing to unleash the hidden potential
  • Effective communication skills in English (mandatory) both verbally and in writing. Other language skills are an advantage.


Other strengths we value

  • Understanding of engineering, procurement and Construction Management disciplines/interfaces
  • General understanding of contract administration, business principles and business law
  • Cost and schedule management skills (including basic skills with scheduling software)
