About the Role
We are excited to launch the next stage in the rollout of our new National After-Hours Service for our Child, Youth and Family Services. The service was created to provide on-call support to our staff and carers who support young people and children in our Out of Home Care Services nationally. As part of this support, we will also provide an after-hours rostering team who will manage any shift changes between the hours of 5pm and 9am weekdays and complete cover over the weekends.
As a Rostering Officer you will work as part of a centralised team to coordinate and optimise the available workforce by utilising rostering and scheduling systems (Microsoft Teams SHIFTs) to best meet client requirements and promote a sustainable workforce.
You will be working from home on a rotating roster. Shift times may vary due to national coverage and time differences.
Weekdays - between 6am-11am & 4pm-12am. May be extended during public holidays.
Weekends - 6am-2:30pm & 2pm-11pm
These roles will be offered as a casual contract to suit people’s preferences and availability.
Please note: This is a true casual on-call roster with no guarantee of regular hours. This role would suit someone looking for a second income.
Key Responsibilities
- Fill shifts made vacant by unscheduled leave and in time needs of clients and services outside of regular business hours
- Work with stakeholders to understand Service Agreements and customer needs
- Respond to ad hoc changes required by customers and workers by adjusting schedules and systems and communicating with stakeholders daily
- Develop ‘best fit’ schedules for customers and optimise rosters for workers and the program
- Monitor rosters and schedules to ensure that support is delivered to customers that reflects the customer’s current service agreement
- As required, provide reports to the manager or their delegate
- Comply with all Life Without Barriers policy, code of conduct, procedures and practices, external funding body requirements and legislation.
Skills & Experience
- Experience rostering / scheduling under the SCHADS award
- An understanding of delivering residential support services (Out of Home Care or Disability Services advantageous)
- Ability to work autonomously with competing priorities
- Use of Teams Shifts is advantageous or any online rostering tool and ability to pick up systems quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with a range of stakeholders to optimise a best fit workforce for customers
