Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania

Description: Prudential is at present looking to employ Manager, Trust Administration right now, this position will be presented in Pennsylvania. The duties of the position can cover a wide range from potential direct report people management to highly technical/professional (consulting with clients and their attorneys on retirement plan compliance and trust matters, collective investment fund client onboarding and setup coordination, etc.) to matrix management. An important aspect of the position includes developing and maintaining relationships with many other business units within Prudential Investment Management and Prudential Retirement, which requires strong interpersonal skills. This position has primary daily responsibility for the management of Prudential Trust Company trust business in addition to Trust Officer duties for Prudential Bank & Trust, FSB. It is located in our Scranton, PA office.

Job location: Scranton, PA (Northeastern PA area)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Trust Officer responsible for the administration of the Day One ! Collective Trust Funds (Target date funds initiative).
  • Train department personnel on all aspects of the services provided, procedures, etc.
  • Take the lead on the most complex and high profile client negotiations.
  • Manage relationships with matrix business partners.
  • Maintain Pru Trust Co. Trust Policy and Operating Procedures and consider appropriate strategic shifts as warranted.
  • Review and execute trust agreements, amendments, and other related documentation as needed.
  • Assist with the setup of new collective trust funds and variants of the same.
  • Serve as an SME/primary point of contact for our business partners.
  • Independently manage and handle day-to-day trust business matters.
  • Respond to inquiries from, and consult with, clients and client-facing personnel on trust issues. Research trust issues, as required.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Trust Officer, review and approve requests for exceptions to Trust Policy.
  • Coordinate, manage, and pr! epare responses to Trust Department audits and regulatory examinations (PA State Department of Banking, internal audit, external audit, etc.).
  • Manage annual and periodic trust business due diligence reviews covering internal and external vendors (annual Pru Trust Co. file review, annual Pru Trust Co. Compliance Manual review and update, fulfill vendor management requirements in accordance with corporate standards).
  • Oversee, monitor and review management, financial, and regulatory reports.
  • Prepare and present (when necessary) quarterly Board of Directors presentations on behalf of the Chief Trust Officer.
  • Handle special projects.
  • General business management/leadership experience potentially including managing people.
  • Bachelors’ degree, preferably in finance, accounting or similar, business, a business-related discipline or legal studies.
  • General investment-industry knowledge especially including types of securi! ties, operation of securities markets, regulatory structure and market ! participants, custody, etc.
  • Professional designation(s) and/or MBA are a plus.
  • 6 to 8 years of employee benefits or retirement plan administration experience, including various investment products, with specific knowledge of qualified retirement plans in one or more of the following areas: trust, investments, contracts, operations, administration, document preparation, consulting or compliance.
  • Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tool skills (including, but not limited to, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated creativity in the use of all these tools.
  • Previous trust experience and/or experience with legal documents are a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with numerous clients and stakeholders, including sales, service, operations, product and executive groups from PIM, PI, Prudential Retirement and other Prudential affiliated groups.
  • Experience in vendor management is a plus.
