In addition to base compensation Associate Attorney will earn a percentage of the fees from the work which they bring to the firm.

Job Title\Description: Associate Attorney for small suburban firm handling primarily criminal defense, Title IX defense advising, bankruptcy matters and general civil litigation.
Job Responsibilities: Enhances supervising attorneys’ effectiveness by providing litigation support to lead attorneys as well as handling individual caseload from client generation and intake through case preparation, investigation, hearing, trial or other conclusion of case.
Associate Attorney Job Duties:
Assist lead or supervising attorney by handling matters ranging from client intake, research, writing, drafting and assembling documents, briefs, pleadings, petitions and motions and making court appearances. The position wi ll require substantial client contact, time in court and case preparation including correspondence with court offices, opposing counsel, clients, witnesses and experts. The position will require the attorney to attend preliminary hearings, pretrial conference, call of the trial list, trial in civil and criminal matters, Title IX and college disciplinary investigations and bankruptcy motion hearings and creditors meetings, and sentencing in criminal cases.
The position requires the attorney to continually update their knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal and professional networks, participating in professional organizations, managing and recording their own time.
Associate attorney skills and qualifications:
The associate Attorney will have 2 to 3 years experience in criminal and/or civil litigation, be highly organized, have excellent research & writing skills, and be self-motivated and accountable to the lead attorneys, the firm and whichever team they are working on at any given time. The position requires the applicant to make an effort to grow the firm and their own business, and become part of our team and to adopt our firm’s statement of values.
While the applicant is not expected to be proficient in all areas of law practiced by the firm, applicant should be a self-starter, quick learner, be inquisitive and have a passion for the law.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
