Director of Major and Planned Gifts (Reg FT)

General Summary:
To plan, develop and manage a comprehensive program for the overall cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned and major gift prospects.
Job Specifications:
Requires a minimum of a master's degree in a related field and minimum five years experience in fundraising, with at least two years of proven success in closing major and planned gifts. Applicants with a Juris Doctor degree are welcome to apply.
Highly motivated and achievement-oriented. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills. Knowledge of tax laws, basic financial planning and deferred giving strategies desired. E! xperience working with attorneys, CPA's, financial advisors an! d trust officers in finalizing details of planned gifts. Familiar with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge, prospect research tools (i.e. Wealth Engine) and experience and skill with Microsoft Office software.
Job Duties:
1. Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Foundation, identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects.
2. Manage an agreed upon personal portfolio of major and planned gift prospects that will lead to financial commitments.
3. Manage all elements of a planned giving program, including the development of marketing strategies, conducting seminars and the planning of events and direct mail pieces relevant to planned giving.
4. Work with volunteers, the President and Foundation staff to plan strategies for cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of prospective donors.
5. Provide stewardship to major donors.
6. Advise prospects on current and deferred giving.
7. Support the efforts of other! Foundation staff as needed (i.e. special events, corporate/foundation relations, etc)
8. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
