Vanguard’s Legal & Compliance team addresses a wide range of complex and compelling legal and compliance issues. To support its growing business, Vanguard is seeking an attorney for its Finance Legal team. The position is responsible for a broad portfolio of legal matters related to Vanguard’s Finance Division and offers substantial opportunity for long-term growth.
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant legal experience including relevant subject matter expertise related to Corporate Finance and Accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide sophisticated legal support to Vanguard’s Finance Division including matters related to commercial finance, corporate governance, audit, corporate accounting, treasury, risk management, and enterprise supplier management.
Support and develop key relationships with members of Vanguard’s Finance leadership team.
Provide proactive advice and collaborate with internal clients and legal colleagues in various jurisdictions to determine and implement key strategic, financial and business initiatives.
Advise internal clients on legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements to ensure compliance.
Sourcing and management of outside counsel relationships (as-needed).
Lead, assist and/or provide support for legal and other corporate initiatives undertaken by Vanguard.
Qualifications
Law Degree (J.D.) is required.
Minimum of 6-10 years of legal experience at a law firm, financial services firm or a combination.
Experience with accounting, auditing, finance and/or related undergraduate degree preferred.
Excellent undergraduate and law school academic credentials.
Exceptional leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work quickly and independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines.
Demonstrated client relationship and communication skills.
