Saddleback Kid’s (SK) is the name of our Children’s Ministry at Saddleback Church and is led by a team of staff and volunteers whose passion is children and whose vision is to “connect kids to God and to others”. Our goal is to provide a fun and interactive program tailored just for kids, no matter what age and grade, to help them know Jesus and grow spiritually as they build meaningful relationships with other children and adults.
Saddleback is one church in many locations. Our Los Angeles location is now hiring a full-time SK Director who oversees the program available for newborns – elementary age.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Ensure the Children’s (SK) program is offered during the weekend services
- Prepare curriculum and programs
- Resource inventory and classroom set up and tear down
- Identify, train, shepherd, and encourage all SK volunteers
- Connect with parents and welcome new families
- Oversee seasonal campus special events
- Teach Children’s Baptism Class
- Teach Parent Commitment/Child Dedication Class
- Lead new SK volunteer orientations
- Provide administrative support, data entry
- Scheduling and attendance of meetings
- Manage budgets
- Collaborate with the SK ministry at Lake Forest
- Continually cast the SK vision, mission, and values to the volunteer team
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE:
- Experience working with children is essential
- 2+ years prior experience working with a children’s ministry
- Previous management experience preferred
- Previous financial/budget experience preferred
- College degree or equivalent experience required; seminary is preferred
WHO YOU ARE:
- Strong administrative skills required (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pro Presenter, Keynote, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to foresee and address needs for the children’s programs
- Flexible approach to changing priorities and duties
- The ideal candidate would have a deep understanding of the Saddleback Culture and Purpose Driven Children’s Ministry
- Early Sunday mornings and some weeknight hours required

Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity, along with budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. Pay will be provided at a range of $27 - $28.25 per hour. We will provide a pay rate that is within our salary structure and that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job.
