Performs skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical and building systems. Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities. Acts as a team lead/deputy for the maintenance team to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of production equipment and facilities. Uses judgement to repair and maintain production equipment according to specifications and undertake preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Results can be readily checked for correctness.

Primary Responsibilities
- Establishes targets in areas such as equipment reliability and service standards and monitors the performance of all maintenance activities against these goals.
- Monitors time lost due to equipment malfunctions; identifies, researches, and prepares recommendations on significant changes that need to be made to resources, procedures, systems, equipment, or technology.
- Liaises with management in other areas (for example Production) to develop and implement maintenance strategies that will align with the organization's current and future business plans and targets.
- Responsible for maintaining critical and other spare inventory levels to ensure minimal production and facility downtime.
- Responsible for associated budgets for maintenance, spares, utilities, and facilities.
- Negotiates supplier and vendor contracts (for example installing new production lines) to secure terms that are in the organization's best interest.
- Implementing all preventative maintenance programs, equipment procedures and safe work practices for the maintenance department.
- Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of supervisors and other professionals to ensure that maintenance activities meet established targets and standards.
- Embeds a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring all teams continually strive to improve performance, standards & processes driving efficiencies. Identifies & implements best practice principles.
Qualifications
- The incumbent will have a BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience within a maintenance environment.
- Must have operational experience with a CMMS inventory module, along with an ability to optimize system performance.
- Working knowledge of Maintenance repair procedures related to evaluation of MRO components to determine the most economical means of repair or replacement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (i.e.: Outlook, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) software
