This position will serve as counsel to the PNC Asset Management Group, which provides trustee, investment management, custodial and record keeping services to tax qualified retirement plans, non-qualified plans, VEBAs and other organizations. Responsibilities include providing legal advice to managers, administrative and business development officers with respect to ERISA fiduciary and tax qualification issues; assistance with external client relations matters; drafting and maintaining form agreements; negotiating client and vendor agreements (including mutual fund service contracts); supporting product development, bundled defined contribution plan product, managed ac! counts and IRAs; and reviewing marketing materials. This posit! ion also will serve as counsel for PNC Investments, which provides brokerage and investment advisory services to retail customers through retail Bank branches and centralized offices. Responsibilities include providing legal advice to PNC Investments' management and Operations staff regarding ERISA and IRA issues. The attorney may also be required to participate on integration teams in connection with mergers/acquisitions and train personnel regarding ERISA fiduciary and prohibited transaction rules, legislative and regulatory developments and other relevant topics.

Demonstrated good judgment, strong legal analysis, and oral and written communication skills
·
Ability to effectively interact with line of business managers, compliance personnel, and other attorneys
·
Knowledge of regulations, legislation, and case law affecting practice area in order to provide practical leg! al advice
·
Develop policies and practices and ensure regulatory and legal compliance
·
Ability to provide the appropriate level of guidance and oversight to less experienced attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
·
Ability to represent PNC effectively in interaction with external counsel and with counsel representing other parties
·
Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision and to exercise sound, independent judgment and discretion.

Typically ten or more years of experience in applicable area of law and demonstrated ability to fulfill designated responsibilities
·
J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school
·
Currently licensed to practice in the courts of one or more states
