Dollar Financial Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Corporate Counsel with at least 4 years of legal experience to join its Legal Department in the corporate headquart! ers in Berwyn, PA. The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and support in a variety of substantive legal areas, including:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Consumer Lending â€" support business leaders identifying and analyzing legal issues and risks involved in short-term lending products, and related advertising and customer disclosures; and
Intellectual Property - advise on intellectual property matters to global business units; mainly on registration of trademarks and trade names, strategic guidance to business leaders to avoid infringement of third party IP rights and to secure value for IP in transactions; and
Mergers and Acquisitions â€" supports Legal Department and business leaders in due diligence, transaction document drafting and negotiation, and post-closing integration; and
Corporate Governance â€" supervises corporate paralegal on drafting board and shareholder resolutions, powers of attorney, and! other corporate secretarial matters as required in light of c! ompany initiatives.
Education:
JD from an accredited law school and admission in good standing in at least one US state bar
4+ years of experience as an attorney (combination of law firm and in-house experience in a corporate legal department preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be extremely organized, able to self-start, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, clients and projects in a fast-paced environment
Must exhibit excellent business judgment and strategic thinking, providing practical solutions that meet both business and legal needs
Proficiency in Spanish a plus
