Summary
The primary focus of this position is to provide legal services to survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual violence. To advocate on behalf of our clients with other systems in the community. To support, respect, and grant equality and fairness to all survivors and their children.

- Providing support and legal assistance with Sexual Violence Protection Orders and Protection From Abuse matters at hearings for student victims of crime and assists victims during criminal investigations.
- Providing on-campus, confidential support and assistance t o students regarding SVPO, PFA, Title IX, and other related topics.
- Consistently coordinates services with other Safe Berks counselors, legal advocates, and programs as necessary.
- Providing education and information concerning SVPOs, PFAs, Title IX rights, the Clery Act and other information necessary for crime victims on campus.
- Assists college administrators, public safety/police, law enforcement, and related service providers in the pursuit of trauma-informed investigative practices relative to college student-related sexual assaults, domestic violence, and/or stalking.
- Performs other tasks as necessary to fulfill the essential function of the job, which may include providing support and legal assistance to individuals who are not enrolled in college.
- Provides education and information and referral regarding rights of crime victims, as well as SVPO/PFA and Title IX processes on college campuses, at Safe Berks office, and/or oth er appropriate venues. Facilitates connections between students and campus administrators and campus safety personnel.
- Serves as advisor of choice for crime victims in on-campus meetings and hearings relative to victimization. Also serves as a confidential advocate and guides college student victims through legal, medical, and emotional support options available to them.
- Coordinates legal services with Safe Berks attorneys, Mid Penn, CJP or other providers and maintains daily and weekly statistics and maintains knowledge of direct service operations and procedures (on-going).

? Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in legal systems or related field, preferable legal representation experience encompassing social services.
? J. D. Degree and Member of the Bar Association of Pennsylvania or Paralegal pre ferred.
? Knowledge of criminal and civil laws affecting both domestic and sexual violence and other laws governing colleges and universities and crime victims.
? State Police, FBI and Child Line Clearances.
? 66-Hour Safe Berks Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Training.
? Ability to demonstrate empathy, and advocate for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking; strong crisis intervention skills.
? Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain effective interactions with victims and their children and knowledge of direct service operations.
? Commitment to ongoing personal development and ability to think âoutside the box.â
? Dedication to assisting those who have been victimized or marginalized in society.
Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications, within a range of $45,000 - $58,000 per year.
