VP, Primary Casualty Coverage The candidate will directly handle and manage coverage disputes, including matters in litigation and arbitration in designated practice area including Traditional Primary, Medical Risk, Foreign Casualty, Construction, Construction Defect, LTE, Public Entity. Will assist with outside counsel selection, management and oversight. Provide assistance to Primary Casualty Senior Claims Officer and staff regarding coverage disputes and claim handlin! g issues, including strategic planning and cost management. At! tend depositions, mediations and trials as necessary. Communicate with senior management team on matters of significance. Identify litigation and claims trends and advise business clients and other claim staff regarding opportunities to address these trends.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school. An Undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign university or college is required. Bar membership preferred. Must have 15+ yearr's experience in insurance claims and insurance coverage litigation including 5-7 years of experience handling Primary Casualty coverage disputes. Advanced knowledge of insurance law with a focus on third-party liability claims and coverage issues in multiple jurisdictions is required. Should have excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
